Stackley: Military Acquisition Equation Must Change

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. - In order to provide continued “extraordinary capability” to Marines and Sailors as the national focus shifts from security challenges to economic concerns, “we must change the cost equation” of military acquisition, Sean J. Stackley, assistant secretary of the Navy for Research, Development and Acquisition, said April 13 at the Navy League's Sea-Air-Space Exposition.
New Eglin Center Will Train Pilots, Maintenance Personnel for all Models of the F-35

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. – The F-35 program is setting up an integrated training center at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., that will train pilots and maintenance personnel for all three versions of the jet that will become the key strike fighter for the Navy, Marine Corps and the Air Force, two program official said April 13.
Divers Busy With Salvage, Repair, Surveying Jobs Around the World

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. – In 2010, Navy divers cleared debris from Haiti's earthquake-shattered port, salvaged canons from a sunken Civil War gunboat and conducted a video survey of the wrecked Deepwater Horizon oil rig, a Navy dive and salvage official said during a briefing April 13.
