Former General Dynamics Executive John F. “Dugan” Shipway to Receive Navy League’s Coveted Nimitz Award

The Navy League of the United States will present its 2009 Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz award for exemplary leadership in the maritime defense industry to former General Dynamics executive and retired Navy Rear Adm. John F. “Dugan” Shipway at the Navy League Sea-Air-Space Exposition dinner on Tuesday, May 5. The dinner and award ceremony will be held at the annual exposition’s new location, the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, in National Harbor, Maryland.

Navy League to present Navy, Marine Corps Safety Awards at Sea-Air-Space Exposition

The Navy League of the United States will present its Navy and Marine Corps 2008 safety awards on the Wednesday, May 6, at its annual Sea-Air-Space Exposition at Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, in National Harbor, Maryland. Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research Development and Acquisition Sean J. Stackley will present the awards at the Secretary of the Navy Luncheon on the final day of the Exposition. The awards are named in honor of former Chief of Navy Operations Admiral Vern Clark and former Commandant of the Marine Corps, General James Jones, and recognize individuals and service units that best exemplified and advanced a culture of safety during the previous calendar year.
